5 Reasons to Finally Write Your Book

People have many different reasons for writing books.

For me, writing has mainly been about sharing my story. My first book started from me journaling my experiences with household management. When I shared my strategies with friends, they wanted to know how I managed tasks so efficiently. I was eager to share my skills with anyone who was interested, and this led me to write the book, Calculate Your Savings.

Many people have ideas and experiences that can inspire MILLIONS of people and transform lives.

As an entrepreneur or professional, you have gained invaluable knowledge and experience that can be captured in a book and shared with others in your industry.

Here are 5 Great Reasons to write your book:

  • Share Your Life Story/Transformation

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Self-Publishing My First Book

Writing and self-publishing a book teaches one many valuable lessons. I have learned and taught many of these lessons and I want to share what I’ve learned with you.

Here are 5 key lessons that I have learned since self-publishing my first book 6 years ago.

  1. Don’t Try To Fit Every Idea Into One Book. This is one pitfall that many aspiring authors easy fall into. Within every book idea, there are endless tangents, spinoffs and complementary ideas. Knowing when a particular book adequately and sufficiently achieves its goal is a very valuable skill. Alternatively, attempting to capture every detail and nuance of an idea in one book will lead to burnout and ultimately you will NEVER PUBLISH! Narrow your focus.
  2. Editing Is Worth Every Dime.  Having an experienced editor review your work before publishing is non-negotiable. The editing process is key to ensuring that your book will be coherent to your audience. Never skimp on this!
  3. Connect With Your Audience Before Publishing. Getting input from your potential audience is key to ensuring that your published work will be well received.
  4. Aim For Excellence NOT Perfection. Perfectionism is one of the greatest prohibitors to writing and publishing a book. We all want to put out our absolute best work. We want the perfect idea, perfect book title, perfect book cover, etc. I guide my clients to strive for excellence and NOT perfection (which is unachievable).
  5. Write Each Chapter With The Book’s Overall Goal In Mind. This ensures that your book’s main idea is maintained throughout the book, and keeps you focused.

Self Love is Crucial

Self-love. Self-care. Me time.
These terms are used very often these days. Many people get lost in the day to day grind of life, and that inevitably leads to self-neglect. Of course, for most this is not intentional.

Goddess Vibes

A Book By Lizalyn Smith

Goddess: A woman who is beautiful, brilliant, and wholesome. She is unlike any other woman on Earth and possesses an uncommon spiritual element that, while it cannot be solidly defined, is clearly present.

Femininity and elevated feminine essence are highly coveted attributes that money cannot buy. These attributes are highly sought after because they inspire life, love, and abundance. During hectic seasons of life, it is difficult to create space to cultivate femininity. I wrote Goddess Vibes book to provide women with some practical strategies for finding balance in three key areas: home, diet, and body.

Solidifying these areas will undoubtedly help your femininity to flourish. This book is for women in all phases of life. All women possess the ability to exhibit goddess-like qualities. Goddess Vibes details the roadmap that I have taken to create the life of my dreams, and it will transform your life.

Calculate Your Savings

A Book By Lizalyn Smith

Cook meals from scratch! Use coupons! Have a garage sale! In our society, there are countless tips, tricks and strategies we can use to save money. How much do these strategies really save, and are the savings even worth the time?

Calculate Your Savings© is about becoming aware of the best frugal strategies for you and focusing your efforts on implementing them. Being “frugal” looks different for every family, and is not one-size fits all. A frugal strategy, which could be using coupons or stockpiling items in your home, should not cause anxiety or headaches. The best frugal strategies are those that best fit into your already full schedule, and this book shows you how to determine the best strategies for you.

The primary focus of this book is to show you how to save money on food and other commonly used household goods. In order to truly benefit from using a frugal strategy, you must determine whether it is worth your investment of time, energy, and possibly money. After you have determined what a strategy costs you in time energy and money, you can compare that to the benefits of money saved, time saved, and added health & well being. Calculate Your Savings© will show you how to compare these costs and benefits, and also how to calculate the amount of money you could save by using specific frugal strategies.

Living life frugally is not about self-deprivation, being cheap or being stingy. Living life frugally is about being conscious and aware of your spending, and it is about making adjustments that can be sustainable over time so that you are in control of your resources. Calculate Your Savings© will equip you with the tools necessary for that awareness and sustainability.
